How often do you clean your make up brushes? I have to admit until about 18 months ago it was hardy ever. I found it a chore and they take ages to dry so I would leave it as long as I could.
I have researched a lot about makeup brush cleaner – they come in different liquids like gels and foam, shampoo and cleanser but this weekend I found a pack of wipes! Exciting right?
The wipes I used were the Eco Tools Make Up Brush Wipes (25 wipes) £4.66 in boots. I know Eco Tools have a really nice quality brush collection so it made me want to try them more and they were slightly discounted (normally £6).
So the pack is small – easy to take if you’re travelling which is always a bonus. For 8 brushes I used 2 wipes but they needed a good clean. Its says to have the wipe in the palm of your hand but I put it on my dressing table and just rubbed the bush until I could see all of the makeup colouring the cloth. I was really surprised to see what came out of my brushes. I left them to dry flat and within an hour they were ready to use again. They did feel a lot better this morning when I used them and I’m sure my skin appreciated this!
Let me share some facts about your brushes. That you use on your face. Everyday………..
- Dirty brushes become more abrasive and dry as they become more caked with product and debris from your face. In turn, this irritates your skin.
- Cleaning your brushes regularly keeps them soft enough to not cause damage to your face.
- Dirty makeup brushes are also a breeding ground for bacteria.
- Baby Shampoo can make them soft and floppy
